Like you, the Alliance to End Homelessness Ottawa wants to see a fair, sustainable economy, a more engaged democracy, and a more inclusive society. Working in partnership with governments, this vision can be realized.

The Alliance encourages our members and community partners to engage their local representatives across all orders of government to build relationships that enable strong and successful partnerships that educate, inform and support local efforts to address homelessness and housing affordability challenges and successes in Ottawa.

We have developed an ADVOCACY TOOLKIT for engagement with your provincial and municipal representatives.

How To Use This Toolkit

  • Write letters in support of homelessness prevention and the need for more affordable housing in our community to local government representatives and candidates.

  • Meet with local government representatives and candidates and ask questions on homelessness and affordable housing issues.

  • Inform your conversations and advocacy engagement using the Policy Briefs and One-Pagers.

  • Use social media to share messages on homelessness and affordable housing.

  • Be informed and know where government representatives and candidates stand on homelessness and affordable housing issues.
